watermelon

I hope this works. I love today's watermelon segment.When I was teaching we did so many things with watermelons. I used to play a circle game with a couple of kids.
You take a whole watermelon and draw a face on the light green end[big eyes and a big happy mouth] You have the kids sit in a circle and have one child in the middle. She/he spins the watermelon and you say this little song:
Watermelon red
watermelon green
Spin that watermelon so it smiles at me.
Child spins the watermelon and whomever the happy face points to is the next one in the circle to spin.
Great game, kids love it
I sent it to Mailbox, the children's magazine and they published it so I guess they thought it was fun also.
I also have a wonderful watermelon salad that I will post tomorrow.
